Trends in interior design that influence the renovation of a home.
At the beginning of the year, lists proliferate with everything that will be trending in the coming months ahead of us. In the case of interior design and decoration, you’ve probably seen articles about the colours that will be in fashion, the fabrics that will be in fashion or the materials that will be a hit this season.
However, today we want to go a step further and see how, on many occasions, these interior design trends can be decisive when it comes to renovating a home.
This has been particularly noticeable in recent years, as it has become increasingly important to create homes that are comfortable, functional, beautiful and convenient. Hence the importance of having an architecture, renovation and interior design studio such as gHouse, which can tackle projects in a comprehensive manner, paying attention to structural works so that they are in tune with the decorative trends of the moment.
And returning to the subject at hand, what trends in interior design are going to mark the renovations to be carried out in 2023?
Interior design trends for 2023
1.- Use of hydraulic tiles
One of the big trends in interior design for this year (although it has been around for a long time) is the presence of tiles, both on walls and floors. Moreover, we are no longer talking about tiles in flat, neutral colours, but tiles with all kinds of designs and colours, some of which are very intense and eye-catching.
And how does this affect a renovation? Well, in many ways, for example, when it comes to treating a wall. Because walls covered with tiles are going to be more protected and insulated, so they do not need such exhaustive insulation treatments as walls that are just going to be painted.
2.- Presence of coloured marble
This is another trend in interior design that is also giving rise to changes when it comes to refurbishing a space. Because in the past, marble had very specific applications in homes: it used to be used exclusively for kitchen worktops and was normally black and white.
However, we are witnessing a reversion of this material and a different use than usual. Traditional marbles are being replaced by full-colour marbles in which the material is still just as firm and majestic but now, thanks to the presence of colour, it is becoming another decorative element. And this is how today we can see renovations in which marble not only appears on bathroom and kitchen worktops but also in living rooms where it is used as a cladding material.
3.- Wood to give atmosphere
Along with the above, another trend in interior design that is important to highlight because it affects renovations is the great use that is going to be made of wood to achieve a warmer atmosphere in all the rooms of the house, especially in the kitchen. We are no longer talking about wood for floors, beams or occasional pieces of furniture, as has been the case up to now, but wood will also be used in kitchen renovations to build worktops, islands, chairs, furniture…
In these cases it is essential to turn to a company that has a made-to-measure carpentry service in Palma de Mallorca. At gHouse we work with specialised personnel and collaborate with suppliers in order to design spaces that are furnished to measure, always using the best designs and materials.
