Made-to-measure sliding doors, the perfect solution for a mobile enclosure.
The photograph at the top of this post is a perfect example of what we do at g-House to optimise space in our architecture and interior design projects.
In this case, and thanks to the fact that we have our own team of cabinetmakers who carry out customised carpentry, we have achieved a solution that is as practical as it is beautiful with these wooden sliding doors. And in this sense, the separation and distribution of customised rooms is key when it comes to tackling an architectural and interior design project in Mallorca. Without a doubt, an intelligent solution when it comes to separating spaces can make all the difference and, above all, allow a much better use of every square metre.
And in this example that we share with you today, we have opted for a mobile division so that the client can decide when to open and join both spaces or separate them easily by means of these sliding doors that fold like a folding screen. And most importantly, this made-to-measure separation is very functional, practical and beautiful.
Why do we choose sliding doors?
At the time we also considered other options that were just as practical and would also be custom-made by our carpentry team:
- Mobile wooden panels.
- Structures of vertical wooden slats (pistons).
- Movable screens, without being anchored like sliding doors.
And if in the end we agreed with the client to install the wooden sliding doors, it was a question of taste and also because this way the separation between the two parts was more hermetic, giving rise to two totally independent and closed rooms, in the same way that it would be enough to open the folding sliding doors for them to be joined together.
Moreover, the sliding doors allow a natural union, without obstacles or partitions, so they are very easy to install and both open and closed they provide an aesthetic in accordance with the rest of the rooms and the house.
As you can see, a solution that was very practical and that allows you to make the most of the space and have two rooms in one with this beautiful, functional division without building work, something that is really important for us.
